The story behind the livery
China Airlines was founded in 1959 as the flag carrier of the Republic of China on Taiwan, operating during one of the most politically charged periods in East Asian history. By 1975, the airline was flying Boeing 727-100s on an expanding network of regional and international routes, establishing itself as a major carrier in the Asia-Pacific despite Taiwan's complex geopolitical situation.
