The story behind the livery
Air Cambodge was the national carrier of Cambodia, operating regional routes across Southeast Asia from Phnom Penh throughout the 1960s and into the 1970s. The Convair CV-440 Metropolitan was a key part of its fleet — a reliable twin-piston workhorse that connected Cambodia with its neighbours at a time when the country was being torn apart by war. The 1975 livery represents the airline in its final year of existence: the fall of Phnom Penh in April 1975 brought all civilian aviation in Cambodia to an abrupt end, making this one of the most historically poignant liveries in Asian aviation history. No other Cambodian airline has ever been represented in decal form.
For collectors of Southeast Asian aviation and airlines lost to history, this is a truly unique and irreplaceable piece.
