The story behind the livery
Aurigny Air Services is the flag carrier of the Bailiwick of Guernsey, operating inter-island services across the Channel Islands since 1968. The Shorts 360 was the backbone of Aurigny's fleet through the 1980s and 1990s, perfectly matched to the short hops between Guernsey, Jersey, Alderney, and the UK mainland. With runways measured in hundreds rather than thousands of metres, the Channel Islands demanded a robust and short-field capable turboprop — and the Shorts 360 delivered exactly that. The 1995 livery captures Aurigny in the warm yellow and gold scheme that made its aircraft instantly recognisable on the Channel Islands aprons and became one of the most beloved regional airline identities in the British Isles.
